Astrea Partners With The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to Bring Internet to Students in Need

Astrea recently partnered with The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and CESA Purchasing in an effort to bridge the current digital learning gap due to COVID-19. As part of this partnership, Astrea is able to work with program participating school districts in our service areas to get their students connected with internet who otherwise may have gone without it.

Through this program, local school districts will work with Astrea and DPI to cover the costs of internet for families who do not already have access to these services or may have a connection that is not adequate for online schooling due to speed availability. Area school districts will decide whether or not to participate in this program and will identify families that live in serviceable areas but have not subscribed to internet. The districts will then work with Astrea to provide those families with connectivity during the school year.

If you are a family that does not currently have internet service, but will need to have access for the upcoming school year, contact your school district to find out if they are participating to get signed up. The participating school district must submit the request on the students’ behalf.

“We are excited to be part of this collaborate effort to ensure that vital internet connectivity is available to students” states Katelyn Quinn, Astrea Brand & Community Manager. “This aligns with our mission to bring high speed internet to rural communities so that they can continue to work, learn and connect with family and friends.”

If you are a school district interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please contact Astrea directly at jessica.kuhn@astreaconnect.com
